Carol George








He chose the violin for the passion to its tone and a wide range of techniques it allowed. His influences have been Itzhak Perlman, Heigrtz, Menuhin, Stlvotone Accardo, Isaac Storn, Kennedy, Midori andCharles Chang. He adds, "If you need peace or to search for your creator, learn the violin." Teaching at the BSM for three years, he's enjoyed the 8th East West Encounter, Master classes with Ivory Gitlis, training at the California resort and Jody and Stephan's farewell concerts.

Peter Appaji









He says playing a violin is, "A technique to be mastered with a deep passion and the attitude of utmost respect followed with sincere practice." Peter has spent more than 13 years as a student and teacher at the BSM. He feels he's got the knack to "teach youngsters who don't know music, encouraging them in every way, to find the right skill."

Peter Appaji began learning music during his college days.

Inspired by watching other artists perform, took to music again after marriage and completing a degree in Engineering (1991) when he I had time for other curricular activities. He likes the Violin as it sounds closer to the human voice.
Carol learnt to play the Violin and the Viola inspired by the orchestral practices that used to be conducted in and near his home as he was growing up.
Paulette Demello









As a member of the BSM Chamber Orchestra conducted by V.Narayanaswamy, she has built a reputation as a fine and sensitive teacher who has nurtured and developed innumerable students in the art of recorder playing.

She believes that, "Music has a positive effect on the whole human being and is a welcome change to the intellectual work that we do most of the time; it also helps us to be in the here and now, even if we play a simple scale, which explains why we feel refreshed after having played music."

Mrs Demello began learning music at the age of 6 with the recorder, 2 years later she began learning the piano. She began learning the flute 16 years ago from Prof. H.J.Koellreutter, a German conductor, flautist and composer.

Her experience and skill has been honed over the years, having attended master classes of visiting flautists like Brigitte Buxdorf, of the Conservatoire of Geneva and Lausanne, Switzerland, flautists of visiting Ensembles and Orchestras from Germany, Holland, UK and other countries.
Ashish Biswas









He has taught cello at the BSM for the past 4 years and performed with the BSM Chamber Orchestra and String Quartet.

He has this to add, "I have wonderful memories in BSM. Meeting different people, playing with world class musicians, playing in concerts with great musicians. I enjoy my teaching time with my students. Co-operative friends and connections to theses things have changed my lifestyle. I have gained good contacts with different people and personally my music knowledge has developed by which I can give the best to my students of BSM."

Mr Ashish Biswas started playing the Cello from the age of 8. He was inspired by watching a concert of symphony orchestra in Calcutta. Out of all the instruments, he found the Cello most interesting.

His unblemished record of performances over the years is exemplified by projects for AIR (All India Radio) in Calcutta, as a cello soloist as well as a guitarist; playing cello for the Calcutta, Bombay and Delhi symphony orchestras; Bollywood Movie scores with various Indian orchestras over the past 25 years, with big names such as A.R.Rehman, Ilayaraja, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Pt.Ravi Shankar and Satyajit Ray to name a few.
Ramesh Singh







His father who played the French horn in the police band and other army musicians like Capt. Ram Singh Thakur in Lucknow inspired him to learn music. Today he continues to play in the army band at Mess parties and even organizing light classical music concerts.

Ramesh has been with the BSM since 2005, teaching 25 children at St Mary's orphanage. His teaching spans several instruments and schools from St Josephs School, St Mary's orphanage, Kendriya Vidyalaya to East Point School and the brothers and students in Don Bosco School at Tumkur and Holy Cross School.


Ramesh Singh started learning to play the Trumpet in 1973. He first learnt to play in the army because he liked this instrument. He also plays the Euphonium.
V. Narayanaswamy







'N.S' or 'MAESTRO' as he is known, joined the Frank Anthony public school eight years ago. Under his dedicated leadership and direction the school's brass band and choir have consistently grown in self confidence and performance skills.

As Music Director and Head of Academics at B.S.M. he has contributed substantially by building up the chamber orchestra and its repertoire to cover musical masterpieces from the baroque period to twentieth century popular music. He has conducted the our orchestra for its five east-west encounters as well as a performance at the annual Gandhi Jayanthi Concerts, accompanying celebrity foreign soloists. He is also a widely appreciated composer.

Manoj George










He is a faculty member at the BSM and a member of its Chamber Orchestra. He has performed with bands like Rudra (Carnatic-Jazz fusion band), Antaragini, Vinapra and has performed across the country and in Canada, U.A.E and Thailand. He has also composed, arranged and directed music for many music albums, ads, TV serials and feature films. He scored the background music for a Malayalam feature film called 'Gharakshangal' which won the National award in 2001.

Soloist Manoj George was drawn to the violin, inspired by the violin player at his church.  While music was his dream, he is a graduate of economics.

He is an L.T.C.L in Violin playing by the Trinity College of Music, London and is an accredited artist by The All India Radio. Of his many awards received, the most prominent is the 1st prize in Violin "All That Jazz" (All India Competition,1990). He received a scholarship from the ministry of HRD & Culture, Govt. of India from 1994 to 1996. His solo concerts in Bombay, Delhi, Bangalore, Pondicherry and Kerala have won him accolades.
